Xi'an - 26 June 2009

In Xi'an, Mr. Gül visited the Northwest University, where he received an honorary doctorate in the field of economics. At the university, Mr. Gül also addressed university students and academics. Mr. Gül visited and inspected the Grand Mosque before attending a lunch given by the Shaanxi Governor, Yuan Chunqing.

In Xi'an, accompanied by First Lady Hayrünnisa Gül and their delegation of officials and businessmen, Mr. Gül toured the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum, which is included on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list, and signed the visitor's book. Having completed his talks in Xi'an, Mr. Gül travelled on to Shenzhen.
