Offering his thanks to the citizens for the interest they show for him, the President declared the province of Bingöl to be a city which has always been loyal to the state and the land and which has always championed democracy and human rights and freedoms, underlining the importance of amity among the nation. “Each and every one of the citizens of Turkey is equal. This country belongs to us all! Turkey is a democratic country. We have a responsibility to develop every province in our country by overcoming the problem of imbalances between the regions and to eliminate our deficiencies in terms of the standards of democracy and human rights. We are happy to witness the affirmative efforts and considerable improvements in these areas in recent years. ”

Visiting the municipality afterwards, President Gül attended the wedding ceremony of a couple working for the municipality. He further signed the Book of Honor in the City Hall.

This nation has fidelity and loyalty to the state and country. We have deficiencies of course, but we have the necessary will and capacity to overcome these deficiencies.”

The President later visited the 49th Motorized Infantry Regiment Command and Bingöl University, where Rector Prof. Dr. Gıyasettin Baydaş welcomed him and informed him about the university.
