President Gül is in Denmark to attend the Heads of States and Governments Summit of the 15th Conference of Parties to the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Having had tete a tete talks before the summit, President Gül got together with Prime Minister Hariri first, at the Turkish Embassy Residence.

President Gül and Prime Minister Hariri discussed recent developments and regional matters as well as bilateral relations between Turkey and Lebanon during the meeting. Expressing his pleasure at observing that Prime Minister Hariri has formed a new government in Lebanon, President Gül reiterated his wish to improve bilateral relations with Lebanon in all areas.

President Gül later met with President Ahmedinejad of Iran with whom he discussed Iran’s nulear program at the Bella Centre, where the conference was held.

After the tete a tete talks, President Gül delivered a speech at the the Heads of States and Governments Summit of the U.N. Conference on Climate Change. He later attended a gala dinner given in honour of heads of states and governments by Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and Prince Consort Henrik of Denmark at Christiansborg Palace.

President Gül returned to Turkey on Friday, December 18, 2009.

Some 120 heads of states and governments with different levels of social development from all continents attended the summit.
