Israel is bothered most by the fact that the Palestinians have achieved unity and solidarity. “Our first priority is that a ceasefire must be reached and that an agreement like that achieved in 2012 can be made again. In the meantime, the Palestinians including the people of Gaza who have been going through great difficulties due to the embargo imposed upon them should be provided with the humanitarian aid. A permanent resolution based on a two-state vision must also be achieved regarding this issue. But above all, a ceasefire must be established, Israel must stop all its operations against Gaza and the bloodshed must end as well.”

PRESIDENT ABBAS: ISRAEL DOES NOT WANT TO SEE A PALESTINE IN UNITY

As for President Abbas, he offered his thanks to President Gül and the Turkish government for their support for Palestine and said they are in close consultations with the Turkish government. He further declared that they regard Turkey as their main partner in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Israel, he noted, does not want to see a Palestine in unity nor does it want a Palestine which is a member in the international organizations including the UN. “Israel is creating excuses all the time in order to undermine our unity and agreement among us and so that an independent state of Palestine whose capital is Jerusalem cannot be established.”

The Palestinian President further maintained that they are making every effort along with the friends of Palestine including the Muslim and Arab countries in order that a ceasefire can be established without delay.
