President Gül Explores Istanbul Archaelogical Museums

 

President Abdullah Gül visited the Istanbul Archaeological Museums and Banknote Printing House and he was informed about the works being displayed and the ongoing restoration works in the buildings.

President Abdullah Gül visited the Istanbul Archaeological Museums and the Banknote Printing House.

The President, during his visit, was informed about the works being displayed in the museums and the ongoing renovation and seismic retrofitting works in the buildings.

The President later explored the banknote printing house.

ISTANBUL ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUMS

Built by Osman Hamdi Bey in 1891, the Istanbul Archaeological Museums are made up of three different museums, which are the Archaeological Museum, the Ancient Orient Museum and the Tiled Kiosk Museum. The Istanbul Archaeological Museums boast over 1 million works from diverse cultures and have an important place among the world’s biggest museums.
