President Gül Watches 88th Gazi Derby

 

President Abdullah Gül, after watching Turkey’s most prestigious horse race, the Gazi Derby, running for the 88th time at the Veli Efendi Hippodrome in Istanbul, presented the award to Yıldırım Gelgin, who received the award on behalf of Levent Gelgin, who is the owner of the winning horse, “Blaze to Win”.

President Gül, after the race, presented the award to Yıldırım Gelgin, who received the award on behalf of Levent Gelgin, who is the owner of the winning horse, “Blaze to Win”. He later gave plaques to the trainer of the horse, Aydın Küçükaksoy, and the jockey, Halis Karataş.

Food, Agriculture and Livestock Minister Mehmet Mehdi Eker, Governor of Istanbul Hüseyin Avni Mutlu, Istanbul Chief of Police Selami Altınok and Chairman Serdal Adalı of the Jockey Club of Turkey also watched the race.
