Polish President Komorowski at the Çankaya Presidential Palace

President Bronislaw Komorowski of Poland is paying a state visit to Turkey at the invitation of President Abdullah Gül.

After the official welcoming ceremony, President Gül and First Lady Hayrünnisa Gül had a tete-a-tete with President Komorowski and Polish First Lady Anna Komorowska. The two presidents later chaired the delegational talks.

President Komorowski's visit has particular importance in that both countries will mark the 600th anniversary of their diplomatic relations. The visit is also important as it will officially crown the celebration programs that will be held in both countries in this regard.
