First Lady Hayrünnisa Gül accompanied President Abdullah Gül during his visit to the city of Adana from December 10-11.

FIRST LADY WITH CHILDREN AT HOMES OF AFFECTION

The First Lady, accompanying President Gül on his visit to the city of Adana, got together with children residing at the Homes of Affection (Sevgi Evleri) where she was welcomed with flowers by them. Mrs. Gül enjoyed both a gymnastic show performed by children whose ages ranged from 3 to 7 and a karate and taekwondo show performed by children of 7-12 years of age. She later visited two other homes where babies and girls of 7-12 years of age stay. The First Lady chatted with each one of them.

FIRST LADY VISITS MARTYR’S SPOUSE

Mrs. Gül also paid a visit to Tülin Pişkin, the wife of the Specialist Gendarmerie Sergeant, Hacı Emin Pişkin, martyred in the city of Ordu on August 3, 2010. The First Lady, afterwards, visited another family in need and listened to their concerns.

VISITING TEMSA COACH FACTORY

President Gül and the First Lady were informed about the manufacturing activities of the company while exploring the TEMSA bus and coach factory with the administration, afterwards. The President, prior to being with a group of leading citizens of the city of Adana at a dinner held at the Hilton, presented plaquets to the CEOs of the corporations succeeding in taking a place among the biggest 500 and the second biggest 500 firms in the country.

GREAT MOSQUE (ULU CAMİ) AND ISLAMIC SOCIAL COMPLEX (KÜLLİYE)

On the second day of their visit, the First Couple, having breakfast at the Governor’s Residence, further picked oranges and tangerines from the trees in the garden of the residence. They later explored the historical Ulu Cami and Külliye built in 1541. During their visit to the Ramazanoğlu Mansion and Madrasah, they enjoyed a reed flute concert. The First Couple also had lunch with the administration of the Külliye during which Şükran Akyalı and Halime Demir, the Stars of 2009 and 2010 respectively of the well-known the 81 Stars from 81 Provinces Project.

Having completed their programs, the First Couple left Adana for Ankara.
