Mrs. Gül, accompanying President Gül on his visit to the city of Batman, conducted several programs there.

FIRST LADY WITH CHILDREN

First Lady Hayrünnisa Gül visited both a child care center where she was presented with pictures some children had drawn and a textile workshop in the city of Batman.

Welcomed with flowers upon her arrival at the child care center where children of 7-12 years of age are residing, the First Lady explored the center about which she was informed by its administration. She chatted with each of the children and was pleased with the news she heard from them that they are very successful at school. During her visit, some children gave the First Lady the pictures they had drawn.

FIRST LADY AT A TEXTILE WORKSHOP

The second place the First Lady paid a visit to is the DORSA Textile Plant. Exploring the factory, established with the help of fashion designers and other private sector institutions within the framework of the “Innovation Projects in Strengthening Women in the GAP Region” conducted through the partnership between the UN Development Program and the GAP Regional Development Directorate, the First Lady was briefed about the project by the administration of the plant. She later chatted with the employees while examining the products. The First Lady, welcomed with flowers by the students of Batman Science High School, had a memoir photo taken with them and then left the factory.

The First Lady along with President Gül also explored the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) West Raman Oil Production Facility and the Turkish Petroleum Refinery Corporation (Tüpraş) Batman Refinery Facilities.

Afterwards, they left the city of Batman for Ankara.
